Crayo vs AutoShorts

Crayo vs AutoShorts: two different products with the same price tag

People compare these two because both cost roughly $19 to $79 a month, but they are built for different jobs. Crayo is a manual studio with many tools; AutoShorts is a scheduler that publishes a faceless series while you sleep. StoryTok sits between them: manual formats like Crayo, and for one niche, Reddit stories, a scheduler that can also post like AutoShorts, paid from credit packs instead of a monthly plan. AutoShorts covers far more niches than that. We make StoryTok, so weigh that accordingly.

The short version

AutoShorts automates many niches on a plan. Crayo has the toolbox. StoryTok automates Reddit stories, and can post them, on credits.

  • Crayo: manual studio with many AI tools, $13–$55 a month billed annually, no trial or refunds, no posting.

How to choose

  • Want a channel in a niche other than Reddit stories to make and post itself, and you are happy paying monthly: AutoShorts. Its scheduler covers more ground than ours.
  • Want a broad manual toolkit with AI images and audio utilities, and you post enough to use a plan every month: Crayo. Plan on uploading by hand.
  • Want scheduled Reddit-sourced videos that are rewritten rather than read verbatim, posted to your accounts or held for review, plus manual formats, without a subscription: StoryTok.

Questions people ask

Is Crayo or AutoShorts better for a faceless channel?

AutoShorts if you want the channel fully automated including posting, in almost any niche, and will pay monthly for it. Crayo if you want a manual studio with many AI tools. Neither has a free trial beyond AutoShorts’ single watermarked video, and both reset credits monthly (September 2026). If the channel is Reddit stories, StoryTok’s Autopilot also renders and posts on a schedule, paid from credit packs.

Does Crayo have scheduling like AutoShorts?

No. Crayo’s workflows end at the download step and it has no scheduler or auto-posting. AutoShorts schedules and posts to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. StoryTok’s Autopilot schedules sourcing, writing and rendering of Reddit stories, and posts each video to your connected accounts if you opt in. It posts after the scheduled render finishes, not at an exact clock time.

Which is cheapest?

For irregular use, StoryTok: a $5 pack of 20 credits covers about 20 short renders and never expires; posting from the app adds 1 paid credit per video per account. For daily posting in a niche other than Reddit stories, AutoShorts’ entry plan, where auto-posting is part of the subscription. Crayo’s Hobby plan is $13 a month billed annually or about $19 month to month, and does not post.
