Faceless.so alternative

A Faceless.so alternative that pauses for free

Faceless.so is the fuller automation product: pick one of 28 niches or write a prompt, and it scripts, narrates, captions, renders and posts a video a day to seven platforms while you sleep. You can make single videos there on one-time credit top-ups, but its docs say an automated series requires an active subscription, which keeps running through the months you are not posting, with no refund once any credits are used. StoryTok's Autopilot runs the same kind of pipeline for one format, Reddit stories, through to posting on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and does it on pay-as-you-go credits: when the balance hits zero the series pauses and nothing is charged. If you want a whole faceless channel across every niche, on more platforms, with posting at no extra credit cost, read the section on where Faceless.so wins first. We publish StoryTok, so weigh this accordingly; every Faceless.so claim points at their own site, with credits and publishing re-read on 18 September 2026.

The short version

Faceless.so posts to 7 platforms across 28 niches. Autopilot posts Reddit stories to 3 and never bills a quiet month.

  • Faceless.so: a scheduled series needs a plan, $24 to $166 a month for roughly 25 to 250 videos; posting to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X and LinkedIn costs no extra credits. Single videos can be made on $10 top-ups of 100 credits without a plan.
  • StoryTok Autopilot: subreddits plus a cadence, an original rewrite of the day's top post, about 2 to 3 credits to render, plus 1 paid credit per connected account if you turn posting on. No plan at any point.
  • Faceless.so cannot refund a plan once credits are used. StoryTok credits never expire and a paused series costs nothing.

What Autopilot actually does

An Autopilot series is up to five subreddits, a cadence, and the voice, background and caption preset you would pick by hand. On each tick it reads the day's top posts, skips anything the series has already used, has the model choose the strongest story and rewrite it into an original script of a few hundred words, builds a Reddit-style intro card, and renders the video into your library using the same credits as a manual job. What happens next depends on the series' posting mode. You get an email if the balance runs out or a series fails three times in a row, and the series pauses rather than charging you. The rewrite is deliberate: YouTube's inauthentic-content rules weigh against narrating posts verbatim, so no Autopilot video is a read-aloud of the source.

There are three modes. Off, the default, stops at the library and you download the MP4. Review first saves each finished video as a draft on the Publishing page; nothing posts and no posting credits are reserved until you confirm. Post automatically is an explicit opt-in with a per-video spending limit: 1 paid credit per chosen account is reserved before the render starts, the video posts publicly to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube once the render completes, and the credit comes back if the render or that post fails.

The limits are real. The caption and YouTube title are set once per series and reused on every video; nothing is rewritten per episode. Posts go out after the scheduled render finishes, not at an exact clock time. Instagram needs a Creator or Business account. There is no niche picker beyond subreddits and no AI-generated imagery.

Where Faceless.so wins

Both tools now post, and Faceless.so's posting is the stronger of the two. It reaches seven platforms, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X and LinkedIn, where StoryTok reaches three. Its docs say publishing and scheduling are free once a video is created, where StoryTok charges 1 paid credit per video per account, so the more accounts you post to, the more that difference is worth. You can schedule weeks ahead and approve, edit or skip each post. And its API, CLI and MCP tools can publish and schedule, where StoryTok's can only render and download. If you need X, Facebook, LinkedIn or Threads, or want an agent to publish for you, that decides it.

It is also far wider. Twenty-eight niches from true crime to language learning, a custom prompt for anything else, AI visuals with effects and transitions, 70-plus languages, unlimited series on every tier, team seats from three to ten, an AI editing agent on Growth and above, and an API on Ultra. StoryTok's scheduler is Reddit stories over gameplay and nothing else. For a motivation channel, a history channel or a fake-text drama series on a schedule, Faceless.so is the tool and StoryTok is not.

Its free start is real as well: signing up needs no card, previews are free, and credits are only spent when a video renders. It is also not subscription-only. One-time top-ups, $10 for 100 credits, pay for single videos without a plan; it is the automated series that needs one.

Where StoryTok fits instead

  • Your channel is Reddit stories. That is the one niche Autopilot covers, with real post sourcing and an original rewrite rather than a prompt.
  • You want a scheduled series without a recurring plan. On StoryTok the series, the renders and the posts all run on one-time packs. On Faceless.so single videos can run on top-ups, but a scheduled series needs an active subscription.
  • You post in bursts or want to test a niche for two weeks. A paused series costs nothing and the credits keep; Faceless.so cannot refund a plan once any credits are used.
  • TikTok, Instagram and YouTube are the accounts you post to, and one account on each is enough. At that size the per-post credit stays small; at seven platforms or many accounts, Faceless.so's included posting is the better deal.
  • You want to look before anything goes public. Review first holds every Autopilot video as a draft until you confirm, and no posting credit is reserved until then.
  • You want gameplay under the story, including your own. Faceless.so leans on AI visuals; StoryTok renders over the library or your uploaded footage.
  • You also make videos by hand. Texting stories, captions, split screen and highlight clips come from the same balance as the series.
  • You want the agent to confirm the cost first. StoryTok's MCP tools return an estimate and only render on a confirmed second call, with a daily cap per key. They do not publish.
Faceless.so without a plan
One-time top-ups, $10 for 100 credits, with bonus credits on larger packs. A video costs 20, 50 or 100 credits by model; publishing and scheduling it costs no extra credits. Automated series are not available without an active subscription (developer docs, checked 18 September 2026).
Faceless.so Starter
$29 a month, or $290 a year, about $24 a month. 500 credits, about 25 videos a month, 3 team members, auto-posting to 7 platforms, no watermark.
Faceless.so Growth

StoryTok Autopilot
No plan. Each rendered video spends 2 to 3 credits from packs of $5 for 20, $10 for 60 or $50 for 360, plus 1 paid credit per connected account if the series posts. Series pause at zero balance; top up and press Resume. 3 free render minutes to start; trial videos are watermarked and cannot be published.

Questions people ask

Is there a Faceless.so alternative without a subscription?

Faceless.so itself does not need one for single videos: its docs describe one-time top-ups, $10 for 100 credits. Its automated series do require an active subscription. For a scheduled Reddit story channel with no plan at all, StoryTok's Autopilot picks and rewrites the day's top post from your subreddits, renders it on a 12-hour to weekly cadence and can post it to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, spending pay-as-you-go credits from $5 packs that never expire. It only does the Reddit story format.

How much does Faceless.so cost?

As of September 2026, Faceless.so's pricing page lists Starter at $29 a month or $290 a year (about $24 a month) with 500 credits, Growth at $49 a month or $390 a year with 1,000 credits, Influencer at $107 a month or $690 a year with 2,000 credits, and Ultra at $166 a month or $990 a year with 5,000 credits. Video generation starts from 20 credits, so the plans work out to roughly 25, 50, 100 and 250 videos a month. Without a plan, one-time top-ups are $10 for 100 credits; automated series need an active subscription.

Does Faceless.so have a free trial?

Signing up is free with no card, and the site says script, style and voice previews cost nothing, with credits spent only when a finished video renders. StoryTok gives 3 free rendered minutes at signup, also with no card.

Does Faceless.so refund?

Its site states that it is unable to refund plans once credits have been used and that the subscription stays active until the end of the billing period; you can cancel any time. StoryTok has no plan to refund; a failed render returns its credits automatically and a paused Autopilot series costs nothing.

Does StoryTok auto-post like Faceless.so?

Yes, to fewer places and at a per-post cost. Faceless.so posts to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X and LinkedIn, charges no extra credits for publishing, and can publish through its API. StoryTok posts to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube from the web app at 1 paid credit per video per account, and an Autopilot series can hold each video for review or post it automatically once you opt in. StoryTok's API and MCP server do not publish.

Which is better for a faceless channel?

Faceless.so if you want any niche, AI visuals, seven platforms and posting with no extra credit cost, and you will use a plan every month. StoryTok if the channel is Reddit stories over gameplay on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, and you want to pay only for the videos that render and the posts that go out, with no plan behind the series.
